Seems like it would work, unfortunately I discovered my keyboard switches were actually soldered in, so couldn't remove them. No fault of this product. I do find the rubbery coating on these attract dust / dirt and it sticks to it, it might be the type of plastic that eventually degrades and gets gross and sticky but I'm not sure. It's not that bad at this point but stuff does stick to it.
