Happy National Dog Day!

Did you know today is National Dog Day??? It so is. Today is the day to celebrate the four-pawed companions that bring unconditional love and meaning into our lives. Here are a few ideas from the website on how to celebrate this special day;

*Throw a doggie costume contest.
*Buy your dog new treats.
*Buy a new toy or outfit for your dog.
*Dress your dog up in patriotic wear to let everyone know it is National Dog Day.
*Let your dog be lazy and sleep all day on a new comfy bed.
*Have professional pictures taken of you and your pooch.
*Adopt! Consider an older or special needs dog.

My personal favorite from the website was "Get married and include your dog." Well, it wasn't on my schedule for today, but why the heck not?

*Take your dog for an extra long walk or run. Or call us! We'd be happy to help.
*Give your dog some extra hugs, belly rubs, and scratches behind the ears.
*Add a little extra peanut butter to the Kong today.

*Treat your dog to a yummy dessert! Frosty Paws are a big favorite at the Four Paws house!
*Adopt! Consider an older or special needs dog. We really liked this one and felt it could use repeating!

When I asked Ari what he'd like for National Dog Day, he said he wants a pet squirrel and a big stack of pancakes. Maybe I'll just take him for an extra run tonight instead.
